The Brief
Gaming Buzz provides news, reviews, guides, stream-safe music and creative content around gaming, streaming and tech. Their founders expanded their website quickly with a rough logo and were looking for a new brand identity that felt more consistent. The new logo would need to stand out from their competitors, and be future-proofed to allow for expansion into other sectors.

The new logo would need to stand out from their competitors, and be future-proofed to allow for expansion into other sectors.
The Solution
After toying with a number of concepts around gaming, and gaming controllers, I eventually landed on this design that takes a ‘D-Pad’ shape from a traditional gaming controller and uses it to form the central connection between the letters G and B of Gaming Buzz.
After toying with a number of concepts around gaming, and gaming controllers, I eventually landed on this design that takes a ‘D-Pad’ shape from a traditional gaming controller and uses it to form the central connection between the letters G and B of Gaming Buzz.
We played with a few different styles of D-Pad from a number of controller styles, all to increase the legibility of the G and the B, while still maintaining the subtle shape in the centre of the two letters.
The result is an incredibly sturdy and versatile logo, with an option for expansion into other areas of their business.
